As the
Churchhill River flows southeast from Hayman Lake, several islands
obstruct its course and divide it into various channels. Though
they run only a few kilometers before opening into Devil Lake, these
channels boast a vertical drop of 12 meters. The resulting falls and
rapids produce some of the best whitewater canoeing in North
